Gina needs your help.

Gina is living with chronic liver disease. A liver transplant is her best chance at life — and a healthy living donor could make that possible.

If you're between 18–55 and in good health, you may be able to help.

Her story

Gina is a beloved member of her family and community. Her illness has progressed to the point where a transplant is the only path forward. The people who love her are sharing her story widely, hoping to find the right match.

If you can't donate, sharing this page could still save her life.

How living liver donation works

The liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate. A donor typically gives between 30 and 70% of their liver — the portion that remains is enough to sustain full health. Both the donor's remaining liver and Gina's new liver grow back to full size within 2-3 months.

Could you be a match?

You may be eligible to donate if you are between 18 and 55 years old and in good general health. The screening process will determine your compatibility — there's no commitment required to find out.

Screening is completed through UTCLivingDonor.com

Testing takes place in San Antonio. Lodging support is available.

What if you’re not a direct match?

Even if you're not a direct match for Gina, you may still be able to help. The program can pair donors and recipients across cases — meaning your donation could go to another patient while a compatible donor helps Gina.

Not able to donate?

That's okay — and you can still make a real difference. Gina's match might be someone in your network: a coworker, a neighbor, a friend of a friend. Sharing her story takes seconds and could change everything.
